Happy IDAHOT!

May 17th is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, or IDAHOT for short. There are many days that are brought into existence for similar causes, but May 17th is a day of historical significance. On May 17th 1990, only 31 years ago, the World Health Organization finally took homosexuality off the list of mental disorders. “Gender identity disorder'“ wasn’t declassified until May 2019. Days like these are important in remembering that there are still steps to be taken in the fight for LGBTQ rights, even as recent as two years ago. Read more about the significance of IDAHOT here.
